Troubled Waters

This morning , i was sickened at the hopelessness of it all(latest estimate, 12000 dead). Then i saw this small article in the news papers. As soon as the disaster struck, people started calling up NST...asking, no demanding, that NST set up a fund. By press time , the NST - Berita Harian Fund had already collected a whopping RM 850,000 for the victims of the quake.
With people like this, i think we will be alright.I am reminded of this 1969 song by Paul Simon called Like a Bridge Over Troubled Water. Its about the endurance of the human spirit .It is a fitting song for a time like this .God bless us all.

Of course We'll be alright. Try telling that to the people who lost every single reason they set foot on earth for. They are in such a low state, that they are not even bothered if aid reaches them. The whole situation is just too surreal sink into.

I understand the feeling. But your pessimism is neither helpin you or the victims. We gotta stay strong at a time like this. If not for us,then for the victims.

you were always practical and realistic, and me the optimistic and naive one.
So you deal with this nightmare your way, and i will deal with it my way. Maybe between the two us, we can make some sense of it all. Although right now, i seriously doubt it.

I'm sorry, were you one of the casualties? Do you need aid? This has nothing to do with us!! We do not need consoling. Direct your pity someplace else.
