Romber Bites the Dust
The Amazing Race 7 wrapped up to an amazing end yesterday, with the underdogs Uchenna and Joyce shocking everyone when they were the first to reach the finish line. So amazing was this end that many viewers in their infinite wisdom seem to think that its almost too amazing to be true.Certain things didnt quite add up.
Rob and Amber or Romber, for short (or just Rob, cuz Amber didnt do much at throughout the race except lamb around Rob) was the favourites to win. Never before had there been such a exciting, conniving, cocky and lets face it, deserving team. I wasnt crazy about their attitudes, but one must give credit where credit is due. Kick Ass Romber was the best team by far.
In fact, had not Uchenna and Joyce got on the first flight to Florida with Romber, Romber would have won. CBS is accused of calling up American Airlines to allow U &J to board the plane, even though the plane was already ready for take off. CBS wanted a rat race to the finish line, and they wouldnt have been one if Romber got on the flight and U&J didnt. And therein lies the foul rat.
In U&J's defense, CBS has been fixing up the race all along so its unfair to make a big hoohaa about it now. And i couldnt be happier that U&J won, they are nice people who played with dignity. As for Romber, i wouldnt feel too bad for them. It seems that CBS is paying them a fortune for the rights to air their wedding. In this world being bad is good for ratings. Reality bites, huh?
