Exubera® Vs Needles

8th September 2005 -- A US government advisorycommittee is scrutinizing an inhaled form of insulin. The new drug is designed to help millions of people with diabetes who currently rely on injections to control their blood sugar levels. The chief concern about the drug involves its long-term effects on the lungs. The committee will also assess whether it is safe and effective for people who smoke or have lung disease, according to documents released by the US Food and Drug Administration. The inhaled insulin, being developed by Pfizer, Sanofi-Aventis and Nektar Therapeutics, is called Exubera®, could help diabetics who are reluctant to take injections. However, during drug trials, some patients who tested the inhaled insulin complained of coughing and a small decrease in breathing capacity. -- The Daily Mail
Coughing and a small decrease in breathing capacity? Might even give cigarettes a run for it's money. Sorry, smoker's joke.

Yes, They've Moved

My father's workplace has just moved to a new location from Bangsar Baru, to Brickfields. I do a bit of work for them, so the move affects me too. That means no more Bangsar on the other side of the door. But then again, this new place easier to get to, considering that I do not own a car and use public transport to get around, cause it seems that the bangsar public bus drivers reinvent their own schedule everyday. The great news is; now i can get drunk during the day anywhere in bangsar without the fear of my father or uncle catching me and giving me THE lecture. You know, the one about your future going down the drain or something of it's similar kind. Of course, this dazzling opportunity will effectively come to an end once I've completed my undergraduate studies, which is in about 3 months time.

Skype Releases New Beta

Skype™ has just released Skype version 1.4 beta. They say this version has improved call quality and users should notice a more responsive application during call initialization, thanks to some optimizations introduced. Other added features like call-forwarding, and an improvement has been made to the contact list (adding contacts is easier even for non-skype contacts).
Bare in mind that version 1.4 is still in beta, so a few known issues are currently being tested before the official release, and I stumbled upon this cause I was trying to avoid work. But if you can't wait or you wanna prove to the world that you have nothing else better to do than writing a post 'bout this, it's still worth a download. Catch; only for windows.
