Say it with Me, Schadenfreude

Have you ever felt a gleeful when something bad happened to someone you didnt like? Its called Schadenfreude. Derived from the german word schaden (damage, harm) and freude (joy). It means ' taking plesure from someone elses misfortune'. It is said that Adolf Hitlers sense of humour is based entirely upon schadenfreude.
This word was featured in Boston Legal courtroom drama. The basket case lawyer Alan Shore used this term describing why people enjoyed seeing others get convicted simply because they engaged in nonconforming social behaviour. This time it was a ice queen who was accused of cold bloodedly killing her husband. Its a cool word, schadenfruede, wish i paid more attention in German class.
